Where is the summer going?

So much to do and not enough time sure is my mantra these days. I always have big ideas of all the things I want to do/get done during the summer, but between the demands of a toddler and the transition of a new job...I want a do-over!!

Regardless, we still have found time for some fun!!

Cowabunga Bay....a new waterpark...with Grandma and Jordan

Garrett turned 1!!! It is hard to believe that a whole year has gone by! We had a BBQ to celebrate with fireworks! I think we'll turn it into a tradition!

Freedom Festival 4th of July Parade with my parents, brothers, sister, aunt and cousins! It's been a long time since we've gone to the 4th of July parade. The weather was perfect this year, not scorching heat!

We spent a week in a beach house on the central coast of Oregon with Lance's parents! First time we've had plans for a "relaxing" vacation! We went with no planned agenda, just a few ideas of some things we wanted to do and see!

Garrett has the right idea for easy airport navigation!

The beaches were too cold for too much water adventure, Lance and the kids were brave in venturing out...didn't last long!!

Since the weather was so cool, skim-boarding was the water activity Devan and Kelsie had so much fun doing!

Kelsie and Jordan went to a Dance Camp...

Next week is the start of Devan's football season, signalling the count-down for the new school-year! Hopefully we can manage to fit a few more adventures into Summer '09!

PAY IT FORWARD!!!! What to make? I have to credit my friend Michelle for the AWESOME (and easy) idea...
Why store your fun jewelry hidden away in a box? How about a fun way to hang and display on your wall!!!! I can't wait to make another for ME!
(It was great to see you Randi!)

HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My parents are in California for Spring Break, so we had to start the festivities a few days early!!

Garrett joined in the adventure and the big kids were a bit confused when all they found were empty plastic eggs!!! HAHA!! Grandma saved the day when she gave out $$$ prizes for each different colored egg!! (Can't go wrong with cash!!)

I have to admit I was a bit bummed out this year....my work rotation has landed me working quite a few holidays this year...including Easter. The kids wanted to get up at 7 am before I left for work...such good sports!!!

Must have been a bit too early for Garrett!!!

We never know quite what to expect for a holiday at the Atwood's. This one sure was full of surprises. After the kiddie egg hunt and dinner we were informed we were participating in the Amazing Race...I mean Easter Egg Hunt!! Each couple was given a choice of a challenge (we chose counting jelly beans) and had to meet "Papa Boris" at the park for our "road block challenge" which we had to decipher for the prize!! Due to the competitiveness between us big kids, prizes were awarded to all! Long day, but it sure was fun!!!

HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PAY IT FORWARD!!!!

The Rules

1. Be one of the first THREE bloggers to leave a comment on this post, which then entitles you to a handmade item from me - something crafty or yummy, who knows?!

2. Winners must post this challenge on their blog, meaning that they will Pay It Forward, creating a handmade gift -anything!- for the first THREE bloggers who leave a comment on their post about this giveaway!

3. The gift that you send to your friends can be from any price range and you have 365 days to make/ship your item. This means you should be willing to maintain your blog at least until you receive your gift and have shipped your gifts. And, remember: It’s the Spirit and the Thought That Count!

4. When you receive your gift, please feel free to blog about it, sharing appropriate pictures and comments! If you are not one of the Top Three Commenters on this post, you can still play along.Go ahead and start your own Pay It Forward chain, and encourage your blogging friends to do the same!

SO, REMEMBER...Pay it forward!

P.S. If you are one of the first three and don't have a blog to post you can take the next three friends that call you just to chat and Pay It Forward to them! Then challenge them to do the same. Let's help make this a wonderful world to live in and show our friends how much we care for them

(Thanks Candice for such a fun idea, can't wait to continue the game!!!!)

KELSIE is 8!!!!!

She had a "tea party" to celebrate!

Of course Devan has to join in with the girls!

Kelsie was baptized today!

What a special experience for Lance to be able to baptize her! Kelsie was so excited she could hardly sit in her seat during the talks. Her "little" testimony amazes me each time she expresses her love for Christ and what the gospel means to her! She really has such a spiritual influence on our family! Kelsie-girl! I am so proud of you!!!!

What an amazing journey it has been...Lance and I just celebrated our 9th anniversary on January 14th. Then on January 16th we took a trip to St George and were sealed to each other and to our children in the St George Temple.

We always said that when we got to this point, we would go to the St George Temple. We went the day before Kelsie's 8th birthday, we didn't want to wait a few more weeks for her to be baptized. What an experience to have our children there! I can't even begin to describe how awesome the whole experience was! Kelsie commented that she felt she was "hugging the Holy Ghost!" Kids have a way of telling it as it is!

Since we were there we decided to make a weekend of it and celebrate Kelsie's 8th birthday! We had some friends and family who went down with us and we all went bowling...I don't know if anyone broke "100" but we sure had a good time!

And to make sure we were all thoroughly exhausted Krista and Ryan introduced us to geo-caching! What fun! We had so much fun searching for the hidden treasures! It was great to get out of the cold and outdoors to enjoy some sun!
